Platform # 1 aims at providing a deep knowledge of the links and interactions between rural and urban contexts. The academic offer focuses on integrated territorial development as the key to face the dramatic changes in rural and urban areas occurred in the last decades.

This platform promotes research and professional training in the fields of modern and sustainable agriculture, forestry and animal sciences. It equips students with advanced quantitative methods and skills for studying and planning economic development. It empowers highly qualified experts in the analysis, design and management of territorial development processes, and it trains professionals able to contribute to the mission of public and private organizations, enterprises, local communities and civil society stakeholders who act at regional and local level to draft and implement development policies.

The University of Firenze leads platform # 1 in close partnership with the University of Padova, the University of Pisa, the University of Siena and the University of Torino.

eligible countries

Citizens of Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Niger and Senegal - who are resident in their home countries - are eligible for the scholarships.

MSc programme

According to the European Credit Transfer and accumulation System (ECTS), and to the Italian higher education system, PfK MSc program awards a Master Degree with a total of 120 academic credits.

Academic activities are scheduled over 24 months, tentatively from September 2019 to October 2021.

In years 2019-2022 the PfK MSc program provides a total of 22 scholarships for students coming from the above mentioned eligible countries.

Applicants shoud pay careful attention to the admission requirements and documents, as they vary among universities. Incomplete applications will be rejected. University websites usually provide a help desk for assistance. Applications are now open and must be submitted no later than 15 March 2019 at 12.00 pm, Italian time. Candidates are invited to carefully check the university website of their chosen programs as the actual deadline may be set earlier.

Inform the Agency of your application by filling the notification form. Applications submitted to the university, which are not matched by the AICS notification form, will not be considered.

PhD programme

According to the Qualifications Framework for the European Higher Education Area, and to the Italian higher education system, PfK PhD scholarships offer the opportunity to earn a PhD degree.

Academic activities are scheduled over last 36 months, tentatively from November 2019 to November 2022.

In years 2019-2022 the PfK PhD program provides a total of 5 scholarships for students coming from the above mentioned eligible countries. The call for applications will open soon.
