Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi, accompanied by the Head of the Amman Office, Roxane Weber, and her team, carried out a field mission in Jordan, visiting numerous projects across various sectors: protection of vulnerable individuals and communities, empowerment of youth and women, vocational training and job placement, and the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage with a focus on related socio-economic development.
Several Italian actors (CSOs, universities, etc.) and Jordanian counterparts (local administrative authorities, community organizations, etc.) are involved in these projects, which aim to improve the living conditions of both local communities and the Syrian refugees they host.
Jordan remains a priority country for Italian Cooperation, which operates there with a total grant portfolio of €43.4 million — divided into €35.4 million in development grants and €8 million in humanitarian aid — along with over €200 million in concessional loans.
