Recognized as one of the strategic projects under the Mattei Plan for Africa, the CAAM aims to develop and equip an agri-food center in Mozambique’s western province of Manica, which will serve as a regional hub for the processing and distribution of agricultural products.

The project has a total value of 38 million euros, of which 35 million are in the form of a grant and 3 million as a soft loan. It is funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and implemented through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

The project aims to contribute, in line with the priorities expressed by Mozambican authorities, to a strategy for strengthening food security, promoting sustainable agriculture, and supporting the inclusion of women and youth in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In this context, the initiative contributes to and continues Italy’s strategic effort to support sustainable agri-food transformation across the African continent.
