During the week of the United Nations General Assembly, the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Marco Riccardo Rusconi, participated from New York in the ASVIS event “Ten Years of the 2030 Agenda: Progress, Obstacles and Future Perspectives”, reminding that “global challenges require cooperation, shared responsibility and multilateral engagement.”

“Today, with only five years left until 2030, we must intensify our efforts, strengthening partnerships at every level, with all stakeholders involved, from NGOs to local authorities, to universities, and to the private sector,” Rusconi noted.

Our country, with Italian cooperation and the commitment of the Agency on the ground, is doing its part by supporting partner countries in their paths towards sustainable development, investing in youth, women, communities, and territories, with more integrated and measurable projects, more effective and with greater impact. The objectives of the 2030 Agenda can only be achieved together, with a positive narrative that explains to citizens how the challenges and crises that compromise the security, well-being, and growth of all can only be addressed through common and coordinated actions and with a 360-degree approach,” he said.
