In July 2021, the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) adopted a Recommendation aimed at strengthening the role of civil society in development co-operation and humanitarian assistance, by promoting an enabling civic space and more effective collaboration between institutions and civil society organisations.

As the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the Recommendation approaches (July 2026), the OECD is preparing an Implementation Report to assess progress made since 2021. The Report also draws on inputs collected through a questionnaire, which received responses from 27 DAC member countries and 39 civil society organisations from the Global North and South.

To further explore and discuss the preliminary findings, the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate is organising two consultation webinars for DAC members and civil society organisations. The sessions will provide a space for dialogue to validate key trends, share experiences, and contribute additional inputs to the development of the Implementation Report.

The meetings will take place online in two separate sessions:

The webinars will be held virtually and will ensure an open and inclusive dialogue. The views shared may inform the final Report, without being attributed to individual participants.
