During a meeting with Lebanese officials and representatives of the United Nations, Italy announced an additional humanitarian contribution of €10 million, aimed at mitigating the effects of the ongoing crisis in Lebanon and addressing the most urgent needs of the affected population.

The funds will be allocated as follows: €2 million to the United Nations Humanitarian Fund managed by OCHA, €2 million to the Red Cross, and €6 million to non-governmental organizations operating in the country through an Immediate Emergency Call for Proposals managed by AICS Beirut.

Specifically, the call will finance initiatives in priority sectors such as healthcare and WASH services, food security, protection, and education, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons and host communities.

As part of the overall commitment of the Italian Cooperation, a humanitarian flight is also scheduled to arrive in Beirut next week, carrying approximately 30 tons of aid, including medicines, food supplies, and hygiene materials for displaced populations.

Assistance will be delivered in close coordination with Lebanese authorities and United Nations humanitarian partners, in full respect of the principles of neutrality, impartiality, and humanity, helping to ensure access to essential services and support for the civilian population.
