IASA, the first non-state Higher School of Specialisation within the Italian university system, has opened the call for applications for the PhD Programme in Advanced Sciences for Agrifood Systems.

Established by law with the aim of contributing to the objectives of the Mattei Plan in the field of higher education and bridging the gap between traditional agriculture and modern technologies, the School serves as a national infrastructure supporting the scientific partnership between Italy and the countries of the African Continent.

The call provides for reserved positions, with a separate ranking, covered by scholarships and including free board and lodging, with no participation or enrolment fees, for at least 8 candidates who hold the citizenship of an African country.

The programme will be conducted in English, and the deadline for submitting applications is 12:00 noon (Italian time) on 21 September 2026.
