The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) has been officially accredited as a “grant agent” of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), a recognition that enables the Italian institution to manage part of the resources of the world’s largest global fund dedicated to transforming education systems in low-income countries.
“Grant agents play a crucial role in ensuring that GPE funds are used efficiently and effectively, in line with the priorities and systems of partner countries. This is the approach that has always guided the work of Italian Development Cooperation and of the Agency, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary. With a strong sense of responsibility, we will work alongside GPE and beneficiary countries—especially in Africa—on the planning, management and monitoring of education programmes,” commented AICS Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi.
AICS obtained the accreditation together with ChorogUsan for Children (formerly ChildFund Korea) and Camões – Institute for Cooperation and Language of Portugal.
