The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – giving continuity to its action of structured dialogue with its stakeholders and the creation of services – launches the digital platform ATLAS 4 DEV.

The project, financed by the Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ACT), from the 2014-2020 PON Governance and Institutional Capacity funds, was structured to systematically collect a series of global development indicators for qualitative-quantitative strengthening of the cognitive heritage of Italian Cooperation actors and public institutions that operate in the context of international development.

The analysis underlying the project found that the offer of databases of indicators for development cooperation is mainly oriented towards satisfying the specific needs of the managing entities, as the production of analysis and summary reports on topics related to their mission, based on data processed according to its own logic and interpretations. The field of intervention on which the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation has worked aims to guarantee greater institutional authority and to enrich the nature of its services with analyzes, on an international scale, geo-thematic reports and briefs.

In detail, ATLAS 4 DEV draws on ten databases of global organizations of the caliber of WTO, IMF, UNICEF and thanks to complete automation it allows data classification with personalized or geo-thematic interpretation keys. The promotion of the Database is part of a broader strategy known as “Digital for development” and coincides with a concrete and cutting-edge product for the management of macro data on economic development, social promotion and measurement of the level of achievement of SDGs.
