A two-day consultation took place at the AICS Rome Headquarters between the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
Led by AICS Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi and GIZ CEO Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel, the delegations explored topics of mutual interest and identified potential areas for further collaboration, starting with EU delegated cooperation.
Three key areas of work were discussed in particular; collaboration in the coffee sector, exchange of best practices on private sector engagement in development cooperation initiatives, and a deeper focus on projects related to digitalization.
Talks also included updates on ongoing initiatives in two priority areas: Africa and Ukraine.
