The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) have signed an agreement aimed at achieving shared goals in sustainable development, environmental protection, and promoting responsible tourism.
The agreement, signed by AICS Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi and CAI President Antonio Montani, enables AICS to leverage CAI’s technical and professional expertise. This collaboration focuses on implementing projects and initiatives to support partner countries in developing responsible tourism in mountainous regions, fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth in local communities, and safeguarding and promoting their natural and cultural heritage.
Activities under the agreement will include mapping and maintaining trails, environmental education, training in alpine rescue techniques, supporting the management of natural parks and protected areas.
