From March 30 to April 1, the EU–West Africa International Business Forum was held in Abidjan, focusing on the development of regional corridors, particularly Abidjan–Ouagadougou and Abidjan–Lagos. The initiative is part of the European Global Gateway strategy, which aims to strengthen connections in the fields of transport, energy, digital, and education.

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) took part in the discussions, exploring opportunities related to the development of regional corridors. In this context, the Agency contributes through technical support activities, including feasibility studies and training programs, with the goal of supporting infrastructure investments that generate economic and social benefits at the regional level.

The event, promoted in coordination with the Italian Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire, led by Head of Mission Roberta Di Lecce, also provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with Ivorian authorities, particularly with the Ministry of Transport. Ivory Coast plays a central role as a logistical and commercial hub in West Africa, thanks to its strategic position along key regional corridors.
