On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of its establishment, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) has unveiled the #AICS10 logo, which will accompany the Agency’s activities in 2026.
With offices in Rome and Florence and a network of 20 overseas offices, AICS represents one of the main innovations introduced by the reform of development cooperation (Law No. 125/2014) collegamento ipertestuale. The Agency began operations exactly ten years ago, on 1 January 2016, under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with the ambition of aligning Italy with its main European and international partners in the field of development, and of responding to the need for a more professional and innovative form of cooperation, equipped with the necessary flexibility of instruments in a constantly evolving global scenario.
“The tenth anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the Agency as a centre of technical excellence and the path that, over the years, has led it to involve all the development cooperation stakeholders envisaged by the legislator: from civil society organisations to universities, from local authorities to the private sector,” said AICS Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi.
“I would therefore like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the staff members and collaborators who, during this first decade of the Agency’s life, have devoted energy, professionalism, sensitivity and commitment, in the awareness that our work contributes—as indicated by Law 125 of 2014—to the promotion of peace and justice, and aims to foster solidarity-based and equal partnerships among peoples, founded on the principles of interdependence and partnership,” Rusconi added.
