Two new calls for proposals have been published by the AICS Office in Maputo, Mozambique, both aimed at selecting an implementing entity in accordance with applicable regulations.
The first initiative, “Sustainable and Integrated Development of Marine and Coastal Resources in Cabo Delgado Province – ECOBLU”, is part of the Mozambican Government’s strategic efforts to implement the Blue Economy Development Strategy (EDEA, 2024–2033) and the National Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan (2015–2035). The objective is to promote the improvement of local communities’ socio-economic conditions through the economic opportunities offered by the blue and green economy, while ensuring both the conservation of marine and terrestrial ecosystems and the protection of biodiversity.
The second initiative, “AGREE Malawi – Agroforestry for Resilient Ecosystem Balance Management in Malawi”, stems from the Government of Malawi’s strategic efforts to implement the Malawi Vision 2063 (MW2063) and the strategic plan Malawi Growth and Development Strategy IV (MGDSV 2022–2027). The initiative aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of local communities through conservation agriculture, thereby ensuring agricultural productivity, food security, climate change resilience, the conservation of terrestrial ecosystems, and biodiversity protection.
Details about the calls are available on the dedicated pages of the AICS Maputo website. Two online public briefing sessions (via VTC) are scheduled for July 3rd. The deadline for submitting documentation is July 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM (Maputo time).
