A delegation of nine representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, accompanied by representatives of Fondazione CIMA, visited the headquarters of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Rome.

The visit took place within the framework of the project “Technical Assistance for the Strengthening of the Regulatory Framework in the Water Sector: Real-Time Operations on River Basins in Vietnam,” funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through AICS and implemented by Fondazione CIMA, an Italian center of excellence in water resource research and management.

Launched in August 2024, the initiative aims to strengthen Vietnam’s regulatory framework in the water sector, with a specific focus on flood and drought risk.

The meeting was part of a broader study tour in Italy, designed to promote the exchange of experiences in sustainable water resource management. Particular attention was given to Italy’s strategies for allocating water across various productive sectors, within a context increasingly affected by the impacts of climate change.

During the visit, participants reaffirmed the strong collaboration between AICS and Fondazione CIMA, highlighting their shared commitment to disaster risk reduction (DRR)—a goal made even more urgent by the growing frequency of extreme weather events worldwide.
