The initiative Raccogliamo le idee! officially begins its local activities with the first territorial event, marking the start of a broader participatory process. This pathway will also contribute to an important international milestone: Italy will present the results to the United Nations as an innovative model for youth engagement in sustainable development.

Promoted by the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the initiative is part of a wider set of actions dedicated to Global Citizenship Education and Sustainable Development.

The event, organized with the support of the Metropolitan City of Rome, will take place on April 14, 2026, at the “Gino Felci” Comprehensive Institute in Velletri. It will also involve the “Paolo Borsellino” Comprehensive Institute of Monte Compatri, engaging around one hundred students in a process of dialogue, creativity, and participation.

“Raccogliamo le idee!” invites children and young people aged 6 to 18—and even older youth—to express their vision of a sustainable future by identifying priorities, needs, and possible solutions. The ideas collected will be enhanced as concrete contributions to the development of projects, partnerships, and shared pathways, strengthening the role of younger generations in decision-making processes.

The event represents a key step in bringing the initiative into local and school contexts, promoting participatory learning and encouraging active citizenship among young people.

The process launched will also contribute to an important international feedback moment: Italy will present the results to the United Nations as an innovative model of youth engagement in sustainable development.

With the Velletri event, a territorial network of schools and educational communities begins to take shape—ready to collect, listen to, and enhance the ideas of new generations to build a more sustainable future.

All interested parties are invited to involve their target groups by completing the questionnaire available on the official Raccogliamo le idee! website.
